(b)(Daisy Wheel Printers)  डेजी हील प्रिण्टर्स डेजी हील प्रिण्टर्स में कैरेक्टर की छपाई टाइपराइटर की तरह होती है। इसमें एक समय में केवल एक करैक्टर प्रिण्ट होता है।

यह डॉट मैट्रिक्स प्रिण्टर की अपेक्षा अधिक रेजुल्यूशन की प्रिण्टिंग करता है तथा इसका आउटपुट, डॉट मैट्रिक्स प्रिण्टर की अपेक्षा अधिक विश्वसनीय होता है। इसमें एक व्हील होता है, जिसका सम्पर्क पेपर के साथ होता है। इस पर छपे करैक्टर ही इंक के माध्यम से पेपर पर छपते है। प्रत्येक करैक्टर को छापने के लिए व्हील घूमता है।

It can print one character at a time. In daisy wheel printer, round disk extends a portion of the wheel making contact with ink ribbon that makes contact with paper for creating the character. This procedure is repeated for each key, when it is pressed.

These printers are fitted with unchangeable print heads called daisy wheels. To print each character, the wheel is rotated and the appropriate stroke struck against an ink ribbon. It cannot produce high quality print graphics.

(c ) लाइन प्रिण्टर्स (Line Printers) इस प्रकार के प्रिण्टर के द्धारा एक बार में पूरी एक लाइन प्रिण्ट होती है। इस प्रकार के प्रिण्टरों की गुणवत्ता बहुत अधिक अच्छी नहीं होती है।

It is impact shaped character printer, that are capable of printing one line at a time instead of one or more character at a time. Printing quality of these type of printers is not very fine.

(d) (Drum Printers) ड्रम प्रिण्टर्स ये एक प्रकार के लाइन प्रिण्टर होते है, जिसमें एक बेलनाकार ड्रम (Cylindrical Drum) लगातार घूमता रहता है। इस ड्रम में अक्षर उभरे हुए होते हैं। ड्रम और कागज के बीच में एक स्याही से लगी हुई रीबन होती है। जिस स्थान पर अक्षर छापना होता है, उस स्थान पर हैमर कागज के साथ-साथ रीबन पर प्रहार करता है। रीबन का प्रहार होने से रीबन ड्रम में लगे अक्षर पर दबाव डालता है, जिससे अक्षर कागज पर छप जाता है।

These are the printers that uses technology that form character images around a cylindrical drum as its printing mechanism. When the desired character for one selected position rotated around the hammer line, the hammer hit the paper from behind and pushed it into the ribbon and onto the character.

2. नॉन इम्पैक्ट प्रिण्टर (Inkjet Printer)ये प्रिण्टर कागज पर प्रहार नही करते, बल्कि अक्षर या चित्रों को प्रिण्ट करने के लिए स्याही की फुहार को कागज पर छोड़ा जाता है। इन प्रिण्टरों मे इलेक्ट्रोस्टेटिक केमिकल और इंकपैक्ट प्रिण्टर्स की तरह आवाज नहीं करते हैं तथा उनकी तुलना में तेज गति वाले होते हैं। इन प्रिण्टरों का प्रयोग टैक्स्ट तथा ग्राफिक्स दोनों को प्रिण्ट करने में किया जा सकता है।

These are much quieter than impact printers as their printing heads do not strike the paper. There is no mechanical contact between the paper and the print head. These printers are comparatively faster than non impact printers. These printer produce high quality output but are costly than impact printers. These printers can be used for printing text and graphics both in black, white and colour.

नॉन-इम्पैक्ट प्रिण्टर पाँच प्रकार के होते हैं

• इंकजेट प्रिणटर (Inkjet Printer) इंकजेट प्रिण्टर में कागज पर स्याही की फुहार द्धारा छोटे-छोटे बिन्दु डालकर छपाई की जाती है। इनकी छपाई की गति 1 से 4 पेज प्रति मिनट होती है। इनकी छपाई की गुणवत्ता भी अच्छी होती है। ये विभिन्न प्रकार के रंगों द्धारा अक्षर और चित्र छाप सकते हैं। इन प्रिण्टरों में छपाई के लिए A4 आकार के पेपर को प्रयोग करते हैं।

  

• थर्मल प्रिण्टर () यह पेपर पर अक्षर छापने के लिए ऊष्मा के द्धारा स्याही को पिघलाकर कागज पर छोड़ते हैं, जिससे अक्षर या चित्र छपते हैं। फैक्स मशीन भी एक प्रकार का थर्मल प्रिण्टर है।

  

These printer paper tends to darken over time due to exposure of sunlight or heat. The quality of produced print is poor. It is widely used in battery powered equipment such as portable calculators.

• लेजर प्रिण्टर (Laser Printer) लेजर प्रिण्टर के द्धारा उच्च गुणवत्ता (High Quality) के अक्षर और चित्र छापे जाते हैं। ये विभिन्न प्रकार के और विभिन्न स्टाइल के अक्षर को लेजर किरणों की सहायता से छाप सकते हैं। इसमें इलैक्ट्रो-फोटोग्राफी के सिद्धान्त का प्रयोग होता है। यह काफी महँगा होता है।

  

इसमें टोनर का प्रयोग करके उसे टैक्स्ट या इमेज मे बदला जाता है। जब एक साथ बहुत सारे पेपर्स की प्रिण्टिंग की जाती है, तब लेजर प्रिण्टर की लागत कम आती है। इस प्रिण्टर की मेन्टेनेंस लागत अधिक होती है।

In these printers, the method of printing is based on principle of electro-photography and use a beam of laser light as a photocopy machine. It is the most expensive printer. The powered ink (i.e. toner) is transferred to paper in the form of text/image pattern and then fixed by heat or pressure. When used to print bulk of papers. The laser printer produces the cheapest cost per printout. Cost of maintenance and repairing is high due to complex equipment set inside the printer. It occupies a lot of space and emits dust particles that can cause respiratory diseases.
