About Teachers Eligibility Test
Teaching is the most preferred career option specially for women. But to become a teacher at either primary level or secondary level you have to clear the Teachers Eligibility Test or usually pronounced as TET. Now since you can become a teacher either at state level i.e. you work to state government or you become a teacher at central level i.e you work for Central Govt. Teachers Eligibility Test or TET is compulsory for both the cases. So in short it is compulsory to ensure that a particular person can be recruited as a teacher her must posses essential aptitude to teach at different levels i.e. at Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary Levels. Guidelines has been drawn by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE). According to guidelines drawn by NCTE State Level and Central Level Teachers Eligibility Test is conducted. According to court TET is mandatory even for contract teachers.
State Level TET
Different States conduct their state level Teachers Eligibility Test For Example Uttar Pradesh conducts Teachers Eligibility Test named as UPTET. Andhra Pradesh Teachers Eligibility is known as APTET. Chhatisgarh Teachers Eligibility Test is known as CGTET or CG TET. Similarly Punjab conducts PTET, Haryana takes HTET, Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test named as KTET. Tamilnadu conducts TNTET.
Central Teacher Eligibility Test
Central Teachers Eligibility Test or CTET is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE twice every year.
